চীনের নিষিদ্ধ নগরী বা ফরবিডেন সিটি হলো রাজধানী বেইজিংয়ে অবস্থিত একটি বিশাল রাজকীয় প্রাসাদ কমপ্লেক্স, যা মিং ও চিং রাজবংশের সময় চোদ্দ’শ কুড়ি থেকে উনিশ’শ চব্বিশ খ্রিস্টাব্দ পর্যন্ত ২২ জন সম্রাটের বাসস্থান ছিল। এটি বিশ্বের বৃহত্তম এবং প্রাচীনতম কাঠের স্থাপত্যের সংগ্রহ হিসেবে পরিচিত। এখন এটি একটি ইউনেস্কো বিশ্ব ঐতিহ্যবাহী স্থান এবং Ôপ্যালেস মিউজিয়াম' নামে জনসাধারণের জন্য উন্মুক্ত। এই নগরীর অবস্থান চীনের বেইজিং শহরের কেন্দ্রস্থলে। এর নির্মাণকাল চোদ্দ’শ ছয় থেকে চোদ্দ’শ কুড়ি খ্রিস্টাব্দ। আয়তন প্রায় সাত লাখ কুড়ি হাজার বর্গমিটার। এটি ঐতিহ্যবাহী চীনা প্রাসাদীয় স্থাপত্যের একটি চমৎকার উদাহরণ। নাম যেহেতু 'নিষিদ্ধ’ সে কারণে একসময় শুধুমাত্র সম্রাট এবং তাদের পরিবার ও নির্বাচিত কিছু কর্মকর্তা এখানে প্রবেশ করতে পারতেন। তবে উনিশ’শ পঁচিশ খ্রিস্টাব্দ থেকে এটি 'প্যালেস মিউজিয়াম’ হিসেবে জনসাধারণের জন্য খোলা হয়েছে। না বললেই নয় যে, এই জায়গা এক সময় চীনের রাজনৈতিক ক্ষমতার কেন্দ্রবিন্দু ছিল। 

A day in China's Forbidden City :

The Forbidden City of China is a large imperial palace complex located in the capital Beijing, which was the residence of 22 emperors from 1420 to 1924 AD during the Ming and Cing dynasties. It is known as the largest and oldest collection of wooden architecture in the world. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and open to the public as the `Palace Museum'. This city is located in the center of Beijing, China. Its construction period is from 1406 to 1420 AD. The area is about 720,000 square meters. It is an excellent example of traditional Chinese palace architecture. Because of the name "forbidden," only the emperor, his family, and a few selected officials were once allowed to enter. However, since 1925, it has been open to the public as the "Palace Museum." It goes without saying that this place was once the center of Chinese political power.

The journey to this country is made up of several episodes of a documentary film. The first episode was released as part of the series' presentation to the audience. Few details have emerged in this phase of the journey from Bangladesh. The rest of the episodes will be exciting. One episode will be released every ten days. Hopefully, the viewers will get a general idea about the beauty of the country called Sri Lanka and the lifestyle of the people from the episodes.
