ট্রেন সেতু থেকে বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু দেখা (Viewing the Bangabandhu Bridge from the train ) : আওয়ামী লীগ সরকারের উদ্যোগে যমুনা নদীর উপর নির্মিত হয়েছিল দেশের আইকন, সবচেয়ে দীর্ঘতম রেল ও সড়ক সেতু : বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু।  ১৯৯৮ সালের ২৩ জুন তৎকালীন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা এটির উদ্বোধন করেছিলেন। এই সেতুর নাম বঙ্গবন্ধু যমুনা সেতু করা হয়েছিল জাতীয় সংসদের সর্বসম্মত সিদ্ধান্তে। কিন্তু এরপর ড. ইউনূসের নেতৃত্বে একটি অনির্বাচিত, অসাংবিধানিক গোষ্ঠী অবৈধভাবে ক্ষমতা দখল করে আক্রোশবশত সেতুর নাম থেকে বঙ্গবন্ধু নামটি মুছে দেয়। তারই ধারাবাকিতায় বিএনপির নেতৃত্বে নতুন সরকার ক্ষমতায় এলেও ওই মুছে দেওয়া নাম সংশোধন করা হয়নি।

আওয়ামী লীগ সরকারের আমলেই বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতুর পাশে নির্মাণ করা হয়েছিল দীর্ঘতম এবং অত্যাধুনিক যমুনা রেল সেতু। এই রেল সেতু দিয়েই রাজধানী ঢাকায় যাবার পথে বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতুর যে দৃশ্য দেখা গেছে- তা-ই এখানে তুলে ধরা হলো।

Viewing the Bangabandhu Bridge from the train (ট্রেন সেতু থেকে বঙ্গবন্ধু সেতু দেখা) : The Bangabandhu Bridge—the country's Icon, longest rail and road bridge—was constructed over the Jamuna River under the initiative of the Awami League government. It was inaugurated on June 23, 1998, by the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The bridge was named the "Bangabandhu Jamuna Bridge" following a unanimous decision by the National Parliament. However, subsequently, an unelected, unconstitutional group led by Dr. Yunus illegally seized power and, out of spite, removed the name 'Bangabandhu' from the bridge. Even when a new government led by the BNP later came to power, that removed name was not restored.

It was during the tenure of the Awami League government that the longest and most state-of-the-art Jamuna Rail Bridge was constructed alongside the Bangabandhu Bridge. Presented here is the view of the Bangabandhu Bridge as seen while traveling to the capital, Dhaka, across this very rail bridge.
